We loved our stay at Montes de Baixo. The apartments were charming with a shared kitchen in "old style." The natural cleaning system for the pool with plants was a unique touch. The surroundings were beautiful, with animals like donkeys and chickens roaming freely. The terrace offered a breathtaking view, and we even had a friendly cat keeping us company during breakfast. This place is perfect for those looking to escape city life and be surrounded by nature.
Felt well taken care of, no reason to complain.

The Montes De Baixo in Odeceixe is a true hidden gem nestled in the heart of nature. The beautiful property has been lovingly restored and exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. As a senior woman, I found the hotel's decoration and general areas to be tasteful and charming, creating a cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. The accessibility of the hotel was impressive, with well-maintained paths and easy navigation for senior individuals like myself. The owners, who I affectionately referred to as the "children working there," were incredibly helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay.
As a senior woman seeking a tranquil vacation, the only thing that could have made my stay at Montes De Baixo even better would have been a slightly softer bed. However, this minor detail in no way overshadowed the overall exceptional experience I had during my stay.

For the value, Montes De Baixo was a hidden gem. The rooms were charming and clean, and we loved the old-style decor. The location was perfect, surrounded by nature and just a short drive from the river and beach. The staff, especially Isabelle and Paul, were kind and accommodating.
Menu for breakfast could have had more variety.

The picturesque setting provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, allowing us to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The tastefully decorated rooms and external spaces truly captured the essence of rural living and created a cozy and inviting environment for our family. The highlight for our children was the natural swimming pool, where they spent countless hours splashing and enjoying the crystal-clear water. With donkeys, goats, a black pig, cats, and dogs around. Isabelle, the owner, was always there with a smile and friendly chat, making us feel welcome and at home. This place is a hidden gem and is highly recommended for families looking for a peaceful and memorable experience.
For dads, it would be great to have a fan in the room during hot summer nights.

Great property with lovely terraces, a communal kitchen for meal preparation, and a cozy sitting area. Convenient location to explore the village and coastline. The natural outdoor pool is an "interesting" experience.
Oh, the joy of being devoured by mosquitos and the pleasure of a pool that looks nothing like the picture. Just delightful!

The location of this budget, friendly accommodation is fantastic, with easy access to a river and beach just a short drive away. the rooms are spacious and well, decorated, providing a cool retreat from the hot weather. the communal kitchen is a great asset, well, equipped and perfect for self, catering.
The cleanliness of the property leaves something to be desired. It seems that the old wood used in the renovation is a breeding ground for insects, which resulted in multiple guests waking up with bite marks.
